Has anyone had any experience connecting a Mac to a Xerox copier, to be used as a printer or as a high-speed scanner? I believe this can be done but have never seen anyone do it. We have both a Xerox 340DC and 470DC.
Thanks...that seems interesting. I have the driver, downloaded from Xerox, though your web site seems to have a different one. Will this work for scanning as well? Also no mention of cabling, etc...
you could serve the copier from a cheap windows box running XP and then connect via OS X from your mac.
I wonder if CUPS or GIMP PRINT have a solution for this? Check www.versiontracker.com and enter these terms in the search field to see what might be there to help you.
I wouldn't bother with the linuxprinting drivers if you have a Xerox one. And Linuxprinting.org only supports a small number of scanners with a driver called hpoj.
By the way, all the CUPS and Gimp-Print printer driver projects are best accessed at: http://www.linuxprinting.org/macosx/
(there's a model search function that quickly tells you which driver set to download and how good the driver is)
