scary os10.2 screen of death

Hey guys,

my old pb Ti had that kernel panic during the last 2 hours 6 times.....very boring i must say, anyway there was a problem between virex and fink i believe so i erased virex and all seems well now.

The problem is that i ve been geting this every now and then during the boot up screen and that is super annoying.

The whole thing has appeared after i installed 10.2.4, when did u start noticing it?

I figured out the root of the problem is F****K norton utilities now the problem is that the software cd is at my house in London and at the moment i am in Greece so how the hell do i remove this piece of junk????
 
I'm not even running mac os x yet, since I'm awaiting my powerbook, however I believe I remember seeing something about virex and fink not being able to be installed on the same machine?

Can anyone give the facts on this?
 
Fink does not install at all if you have a /sw directory in your Mac. I *think* Virex adds that directory - fink did not want to install at all when I had Virex 7.1 == It could be also due to installing a lot of Unix stuff (around the machine).

Of this Virex / Fink issue there was text in Apple's site, it is a known issue.

If you are going to install Fink, don't install Virex. (I see no reason for Norton utilitities wither, they are for peecees). I tried to search for the link for something concrete about it - I remember seeing about it both in sourceforge, fink's site, maybe .mac (probably Apple) .. can't find for first aid. I don't know if Virex installs after Fink but at least Fink doesn't install if you have Virex.
