Screen brightness gradations on iMac G5 28 inch

I just bought a G5 Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8MHz, with 28 inch screen, and just noticed a subtle but discernible gradation change in the screen brightness (bright to somewhat darker/ left to right), the gradation changes are uniform top to bottom, but they begin to be noticeable only on the right hand quarter, or so, of the screen, the rest of the screen seems uniform overall (changes are on the right hand side of the screen only)? This is visually bothersome, it does not seem that this would be normal? Anyone else seen this on a flat panel, on the new iMac's?

Upgraded Ram 1MB to 4MB, not sure that this would cause such an effect, but I didn't notice it before (though I only had the system several days, and I had not used it much, so I might not have noticed it, as it is a subtle difference).

It will take up to 15 minutes to have the screen properly warmed up. Can you take a photo of the screen after it's been on and in use for half an hour and it will be easier to see how within or out of specs is it?

28" iMac G5??? Hmm...

I imagine the "MB" is actually supposed to be "GB".

It's, quite probably, an iMac (not G5) intel Core2Duo 2.8 GHz, the 24" version. If the screen is flawed, take the machine back and have it replaced. It's not a software thing, it's not a RAM thing, it's a hardware-related screen thing.
