Screen Resolution Problem --

I've mentioned this before, like a year ago, and didn't get much of a response, but this time I come back...with information! :)

With my SE G3 (clam/1999) iBook it only shows the avaible screen resolution of 800x600 I've tried editing the ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver.plist but whenever I restart the changes I made are back to regular, with no effect.

I don't care what it takes anymore, if you have ANY clue as to how I can get my resolution at least one set higher, post here!

Thank you for your time.

The Clamshells Highest resolution is 800x600. It CAN'T get any higher.

Sorry, dude. Buy a new iceBook.

Jasoco is correct. Your iBook model can't support higher resolutions, and hacking the prefs file isn't going to help at all.

Yeah, buddy, it's more of a hardware issue. Sorry to break it to you. You could probably buy a bare 12" LCD screen for cheap and replace your old one, but it's probably not worth the trouble.

Hey, wouldn't that be nice if Apple wrote some code that would "emulate" higher resolutions, meaning that if you drew a straight black line at a virtual "high" resolution, it would draw you a dark grey one, and make approximations like that? That way, you could preview how web pages and such looked on higher resolution monitors? Or am I just spewing mindless drivel?
