Screen Savers and Sleep

Hey everyone,

I was planning a trip to Italy and my hotel room has wireless internet access. I have also been downloading TV shows from iTunes. If I go to the hotel, buy loads of shows, and then just leave the computer on (plugged in and set never to sleep) will it work even if the screen saver goes on. What i mean is, if the screen saver starts, will that stop the download operations of the files? Also, if I set my screen saver to never start and leave it on for a whole day, will that more or less destroy my screen?

The screen saver will not interrupt the download process.
Putting the system to sleep will, though.
