screwed up with programs: mostly itunes

i'm pretty new to mac, and since i couldnt find the uninstall packet, i just deleted it...thats the right thing isnt it? and so i did. but now i need itunes back and when i download the package for mac os x and tried to install it, i cant check the box for installation to install it. so i was wondering how can i get itunes back? and how do i uninstall programs the right way?

I suggest that if you want to uninstall programs on OS X which were installed as a "package" such as iTunes you could have used DeInstaller

You can view HD>Library>Receipts to determine if a package was used to install the program you wish to uninstall. (iTunes is a package)

To reinstall iTunes I suggest you get "Pacifist"

You can use Pacifist to grab packages off of the OS X cd. I had to use this to get my Calculator back. (I've pretty much won the award for the most accidental random delete; the Calculator)
