SCSI card in my G3- No drivers?

I'm definitely a newbie in working on Mac's. First time poster.

According to Apple's support site there are no drivers available for the Adaptec 2910C scsi card. The same is said on Adaptec's site. Are there any "pirate" drivers out there to make this thing work? Furthermore, will I find a SCSI icon inside of sys prefs if the machine finds the card?

That's what I've read from both the sites but I have a very impatient boss who seems to think everything has a driver.

Even if it did have drivers for the Mac, the ROM on the card itself would have to carry Macintosh-specific code. You can't just stick any old card into any old computer and expect to download drivers and have it work -- graphics cards are a prime example of this. Go grab any PC-specific graphics card off the shelf for $70 at CompUSA or somewhere and stick it in a Mac. It won't do anything, even if you load every driver known to man on the Mac.

Some cards are cross-platform compatible, like certain USB PCI cards and certain NIC cards, but unless the card is specifically made for use in a Macintosh computer, there's a REALLY good chance the card won't do anything in a Mac.
