I don't see why not. As long as there is enough space, and the SD card is formatted to something that OS X can read and write.
 
Christ almighty, search Google. An SD card is just another form of digital media, like Giaguara mentions above, there is no reason for it to not work.

I've used SD cards to transfer a few songs and/or a couple documents. IMO, your better off buying a portable external HD, that way you can carry your music or photo libraries anywhere.

Anyway, goodluck. It's damn easy to do.
