searching for free paint software

I'm looking for something like MS Paint but the only (free) software I found so far was Tux Paint which I find horrible.
So I appreciate your ideas!

If your computer was bundled with GraphicConverter, try it. It is much better than MS Paint. Apple paid the shareware fee for you. If it is not bundled with your computer, download and install it. It is fully functional without paying the shareware fee, but the program is well worth it if you do.

The closest thing to a true paint program that is free is the Paint module in Appleworks that is bundled with all Macs as far as I know. Graphic Converter is a great tool but it is not a paint program. If you have deleted AppleWorks and still have the Software Restore CDs/DVD that came with your Mac it should be there. AppleWorks updates are free from Apple's Download Site.
