semi-transparent menu bar

how does one make the menu bar in leopard semi-transparent? It seems the sample pics at apple.com suggest it is possible to do so

I believe that it is semi-transparent by default, and it adjusts depending on the darkness of the background.

It also depends on your computer if it has the gpu processing to handle it.

Yah, I was kind of disappointed, it works with my MacBook, but not my iMac G5.
