Sending emails in HTML in Mail

Is is possible to send emails in HTML format in Mail? The only options I can find are Plain text and Rich text. When I send an email with a picture to PC friends, they receive the email in plain text with attachments. How come this happens?

It depends which client they are using to read email. Outlook/Express probably doesn't support RTF formatted email.

I am having a similar problem. I want to send a Promotion to several recipients in OSX Mail but I cannot attach the HTML doc or copy/paste the code.
Why not? On a PC it's a breeze and Macs are better than them, so what gives.

Anyone... help!!
