server 10.4 permissions to view via http

I have a xserve with server 10.4

in the web settings i've created a alias (software) which is redirecting to the folder data/software/

My webserver is handeling this right. But Permissions are denied when I'm trying to reach this location. I've had this working in the past and the solution back then was that I had to add some extra groups to the software folder permissions.

I can't seem to get it working right now....is there anyone who know how to activeate another part of my disk for http?
 
Is sounds like the problem is that the webserver user which proberly is uid 70 (I havn't worked with 10.4 server yet) doesn't have the permissions to use this directory or some of the files or subdirectories. Especially the index.html file
