Server Connection

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have been happily working away on my new macbook after being very pleased of my second mac, the first being the imac.

With no warning and without changing any software or doing an update my outlook mail decides to stop working saying that it can't connect to the mail server. I tried the free mail client that comes with the macbook and downloaded Thunderbird to give that a go and they all say they can't connect to the mail server. Outlook has a specific error code of -3260

I have checked with the company who hosts our mail and they have made no recent changes, all my other colleagues mail works fine. My iphone works fine receiving mail through the same server and I contacted the ISP of the internet key I am using just in case and they confirm they are not blocking any ports i.e. 110, 25& 8889

I have repaired the keychain using the first aid in utilities and then deleted the login entry. After this I have deleted the outlook email account shut down my system, rebooted, set up my email from fresh but I still get the same error message "Outlook cannot connect to the server. Verify that your computer is connected to the network"

I am not an expert myself but it seems no other tech expert can solve this problem. I hope for some salvation with you guys.

Many thanks in advance and best regards
From someone who is thinking of returning their macbook and feeling a bit of a fool since I was trying to convert so many friends and colleagues boasting about how cool it was!
