Yes
I like Macintosh because it is Fast, Looks gorgeous, Does what you want it to do when you want (unlike windows)
Ok there is compatibilty issues but nothing that stops me.
That are expensive but the amount of money my family have spent fixing pc's we could of got a quad G5 with 2GB ram.
I dont like the way that windows seems to slow down after time??
Also the look discusting i think personly.
The only Microsoft product I have enjoyed using is the Xbox/Xbox 360

n

i personally abhor macs, and i don't know why anyone would want that kind of incompatibility. they're also expensive. and they can't run halflife, and consequently Counterstrike, and they also can't run 3Ds Max. oh and most of the world uses pc's so why bother?

You do realize you can post a survey-style thread, right?

I second Major Burns' vote for 'n'. Macs suck. Windows is so much easier to use, and if you use a Mac and it never crashes, then what breaks will you get? I mean, when my Windows crashes, it's like a reminder to get up and have a smoke, stretch the legs and grab a drink. What do Mac users do all day, just sit there without taking breaks? ;)

Use Linux....you'll have more time to do the other things in life when you can't get something working because you need to configure it manually or it wasn't compiled in the kernel. ;)

No.

Seriously.

I mean it.

I used to, back in the System 7 - OS 8 days, but not anymore. These days, I kind of think the Mac OS sucks. It's just that it sucks significantly less than the alternatives, making it relatively awesome.

In any case, all I really care about is the design of the OS. Not the looks, but the functional design.

Also, Microsoft is evil, as has been proven time and time again, both in and out of court.

(This post is more serious than you might think.)

Yeah, I sometimes wish I could just get an iBook G3/500 or something with OS 9 on it. I could write my stories in SimpleText - no problem. Then again, I'd probably install Tiger on it and use TextEdit, since I'd sorely miss the Mac OS X look & feel by now. ;)

I think you should start writing stories in Pages templates, just because that application is so awesome :D

I also hate Macs. I abhor the way one company takes control of everything, from the hardware to software to compatibility. With a PC, I get to speak to as many as 10 different company's helpdesks everytime something doesn't work with something else. I dislike their styling, as I much prefer dull greyish boxes with mismatched cords sitting in my study. I hate the way they keep springing new features on unsuspecting users every 6 months, at least with Windows XP nothing has changed in 6 years. I really hate the way that every time they come up with a new solution to a problem, they actually start selling it as a product that you can chose to buy, rather than as a service you can subscribe to for the rest of your life and *still* get targeted advertising. I hate having these automatic security updates every few weeks before anyone has even had a chance to exploit a vulnerability. All in all, I hate Apple.

Sarcasm overload there. I've been a loyal customer for 10 years now and in spite of the one or two little errors of judgement they've made in that time, they still manage to suprise me in with new and exciting features every single week, and I've never had a crash. Go Apple!

I'm totally lost in OSX, not only 3ds max, but worst of all, my fav, Softimage XSI and McAfee shit don't run on them and probably never will. Doesn't even come with solitaire . I've quit messing around in virtual pc and just use a dell with the real thing. So yeah! I hate Macs.

like fryke mentioned in the first page of this thread, I have no problem with MACs. They help my switches separate collision domains so that the network doesn't hiccup. They also help identify my NICs by vendor and device through MACs.

Oh wait....the question was about Macintosh??? I believe it's actually spelled "McIntosh." I prefer Grannysmith ones myself. ;)

My old Powermac G3 (350mhz) just won't give in. Damn. I really have to get some new equipment though. It's reaching its limit in this every changing "latest goodies" world. And then some. Mac all the way baby.
