Setting a program to open a certain file type

Hi Guys

How do i set a program to open a certain file type by default according to file extension? Ie all .mp3 to be opened by i-Tunes or all .wav or aiff to be opened by quicktime?

Im pretty sure i saw somewhere that you can do this. I know how to do this for individual files (via right click -> other-> always action) but im wanting it to take care of all of them.

The reason being, if i care to explain, is because i have a large number of audio samples on a certain drive and when auditioning them in itunes its painstaking and messes up my itunes playlist library.

1. Right Click any file type
2. Go to "Get Info"
3. Reveal arrow that says "Open With"
4. Change to the app that you want to open this filetype w/
5. Click the big "Change All" button

Result: All files of this type are opened with whatever program you specified.
