set up - im using osx 10.2.3 and have two users -
my wife needs to run in os9 for her applications and i prefer to stay in osx.

question - is it possible to set up an account for her so that when she logs in, it boots up in OS9 instead of OSX?

i know that she could still run her apps in osx with classic mode - but it would be much easier for it to boot into os9 instead - without x being up.

right now, i have to manually go into startup disk each time and restart - this is a pain -

please someone help me

thank you

If your Wife's applications run correctly in classic mode, your best all round bet is to set Classic to load on login to her account.
Classic can bet set to sleep after a certain amount of time if it is not being used, so it won't slow down anything she is doing in OSX much.

Ideally you might want to see if there are OSX versions, or alternatives to the OS9 software she is using, so she can enjoy the benefits of OSX use, and of the well deserved retirement of OS9.

One option here could be: Leave your start up Disk set for OS 9. Naturally reboots to OS9 for your wife. When you want to boot OSX, reboot and hold the "X" key down, System boots to X, but leaves startup drive on 9. This still requires the reboot time, but some OS9 apps do work better booted to OS9. (final option: move your wife to OSX :) )
