I'm trying to connect an OS9.2 Mac to an OS10.2 mac through cross-over ethernet cable. I want to be able to run TCP/IP on it, since the whole point of this exercise is to play a game that doesn't have a "direct-connect" multi-player feature. I can't get any communication to work between the two machines. I've tried setting up made-up IP addresses (the computers are connected to each other, but not anything else), but neither computer recognizes it as a valid IP address. Any tricks here? Do I need to set up dhcpd on one of the machines? If so, is there an easy way to do that? Thanks.
