Setting up New User with Unix

I just received my new imac g5 (shipped with panther) and decided to setup different partitions for the OS and the users. I found directions to help me do this in terminal and it worked fine for the first user I set up when I first set up OS X. Now, when I try to create a new user in the accounts pane, I get an error saying there is not enough free disk space to create the user.

I have 7gb left fo free space on the OS X partition and about 60 on the Users partition.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

that's kind of what I was thinking. I might try and revert it back to the way the users were set up before and see if I can find more recent directions.
