Heres an interesting problem for you all...
I have a LAN i would like to connect to a friends LAN so they appear as one.
I know this can be done using expensive VPN hardware.
This is the basic set up. 2 houses with ADSL, each with a router that supports VPN pass through. The routers currently dish out internal ips via DHCP, but obviously this aint gonna work if i want to get the VPN link going.
This is how i imagine a fix:
A server running a vpn server also acting as the router for one lan, passing on the connection to the router which now has dhcp disabled at one location.
At the other location another computer with a vpn client is making the link so that the server can pass ip addresses to the other LAN
any ideas?
