Shared Hard Drive

I have purchased a 750 gig Firewire hard drive and have created several partitions on the drive for Time Machine, my iTunes library and other things. I would like to make some of these partitions able to be seen from another machine on the same network. For example my iMac would have the drive mounted and my MacBook Pro would be able to back up to this drive from the network. Is this possible, both machines are running 10.5.3..

Yes, head on over to the "Sharing" pane of the System Preferences. From there, you'll be able to set the drive/partitions to be shared and any access restrictions for user accounts you'd like to have in place.

If you're simply sharing Mac-to-Mac, then under the "Options" of the "Sharing" pane, you need only select "Share files and folders using AFP."
