Sharing printer-Mac and Windows ME

I'm hopeless at such things-- I seem to have set the Mac side up ok, but can't find help anywhere on what to do on the HP Vectra running Windows ME. I have done the obvious set up sharing in the Printer properties, but nothing happens. Doing this off a home networking setup via my broadband hi speed.

Lots of help around for XP, ( about 18 zillion diiferent sets of instructions) , none for ME

Save a marriage!! Help us share the printer without disconnecting it all the time!!

OK, first question is where is the printer plugged in? If its plugged into the PC, then you'll need to setup "Unix Printer Services" on the PC so the Mac can see it. I'm pretty sure this was introduced in Win2000, so it may or may not be in Windows ME.

Tell us, what type of printer, and where/how is it plugged in?

Like above, let us know what printer you have and what version of OS X you're using on the Mac.

I don't think WindowsME has Unix Services. You may have to use third party software - DAVE - from http://www.thursby.com.

If you can, I would upgrade the PC to WindowsXP. It will make it much easier.
