How can you turn off guest sharing to your computer so that you have to type a password to connect to a computer over a network. Both running Mac OS 10.2

just set the "other" privledges to your drop box to "No Access" and have nothing other than that folder in your public folder. If there is another way, I'd like to know that as well. The way I describes lets them connect, but they can't do anything or see anything.
 
I turned off the privleges to the public folder to no access earlier. Yes they can connect but cannot see anything when they connet. If you want to connect to the whole computer over the network you have to type in that persons name and their password in order to connect to the whole computer.
 
If you turn off privileges to public folder, then noone outside of you can view your public folder. Normal file sharing in OSX only allows others to view files in your user folder including your public folder, but nowhere else
