Shutdown problem - Al Pbook

My aluminum 15" Pbook fails to shut down now that I have installed Tiger. I have had very few other problems. Now I have just heard from someone on another forum that this is also happening intermittently to him.

Selecting either Shutdown or Restart results in the shutting down of all apps and the finder as far as the desktop picture but then the shutdown freezes there. I can shutdown by the power button and the restart goes fine.

Any thoughts?

Turned out to be speedtools and quickback startup items in the Library>StartupItems folder. Removed them and startup went fine.
