Simple ? about DVD Players

What can I do with a $600 DVD player that I can't with a $150 one? I want to get a combo dvd player with vcr, and want a decent quality, inexpensive one. All I want to do is play DVDs and their special features and play my old tapes.
 
The answer depends on what you want. The difference is going to be in the specifications and features. For $600, you should compare features and specs, decide if the extra money is worth it ( A high end/plasma screen/surround sound system may make the extra bucks worthwhile (you're already spending 6-10K or so, before you even get a DVD) For most people just adding to their existing system, pay the $150 =)
