What does the error say exactly?
What is the error and when does it happen? When launching the application or when installing it?
 
The error occurs during the download. It says "no mountable file systems". I don't have a chance to launch the application, because I can't even get it to install. The first time I tried to download it, it only downloaded about 200 kbs (out of 40+ MB). The second time I tried it, it downloaded around 4 MBs before stopping the download and giving the exact same error message again.
 
Try turning off "Open Safe Files After Downloading" in Safari's preferences, then try the download again.

It sounds like Safari is trying to prematurely open the DMG before it finishes downloading. Turning off that option mentioned above may remedy that and allow you to complete the download.
