sleep problem

Can I reinstall 10.4.11 over my current 10.4.11 without losing data to try to solve a problem with my mac not waking from sleep ( the spinning beach ball)? thanks

When you boot from your install disk, look for a selection "Archive and install".
This will reinstall OS X saving all your settings and Apps, you'll also see a new folder named "old system" which is your original system and can be deleted once you are satisfied that your new install is working properly.

hi but my installl discs are not 10.4.11- i downloaded that update via software update. I can't go backwards- I was thinking of downloading 10.4.11 again...thnaks
