I recently upgraded my PowerMac G4 Dual 1.0GHz to leopard and am having major sleep issues. computer will not wake most of the time after being asleep for more then an hour or so. This was not an issue under tiger, reinstalled leopard on a freshly formatted hard drive and the problem still exists.

I am also experiencing the problem on my intel imac, not to the same degree however?

Power Mac G4 Dual 1.0Ghz, 1.5GB Ram, ATI Radeon 9000 Pro

iMac 1.83GHz CoreDuo, 2.0Ghz Ram, ATI X1600

I wonder if you can help

Sincerely
Michael

Hi,
I've been having a similar problem. I can put my machine to sleep but when I wake it, it behaves ok for about 10 or 20 seconds with the mouse becoming increasingly jerky and unresponsive. Finally the screen goes blank. Sometimes it comes back but at lower illumination (I have a widescreen display) and although the mouse can still occasionally move, though jerkily, the machine is completely unresponsive. Ultimately I am forced to make it crash. I used to think the problem was due to going to sleep with AirPort turned on but no.

I run Mac OS 10.5.6 (Leopard) on a MacPro 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xenon with 2GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM

Have you tried trashing the energy settings prefs. Go to >hd>user file[ you ] >Preferences and trash the energy.plist. It will create a new pref. file. do a restart. this might solve the sleep prob. Of course you will have to reset the time to sleep and wake in the energy saver prefs. in the system prefs window.
