Slideshow missing from'preview' on old G3

In my new desktop iMac I use OS X 10.6.8 and in PREVIEW there is a handy little Slideshow option in the dropdown window.

I have an old (c. 2001) iBook G3 which runs OS X 10.1 and this Slideshow option in Preview is missing.

I need to use this iBook for a presentation, so, if I upgrade the iBook software to a later version of OS X I should find the slideshow and be able to run it on the iBook. BUT, which was the first version of OS X to have 'slideshow' included? AND, will that version of OS X run on my ancient PowerPC iBook?

Is that a slideshow of pictures? You should be able to run a slideshow in iPhoto, which is installed as part of OS X 10.1 - the last version that was included with OS X, AFAIK.

For your question about slideshow features in the Preview app. I don't know for sure, but probably is part of Preview when the OS X system also could do Quick Look - which can also do slide shows. That would mean that you would need to get to OS X 10.4 - which is the highest OS X major version that can still run on your old iBook G3.
That's also assuming that your iBook has enough RAM memory installed. 10.4 (Tiger) needs a minimum of 256MB to install.
