I was out, couldn't get back to you! Anyhow, i am glad to hear you have the speed thing semi sorted!
As for the Router getting hijacked... can you tell us what model it is. (i'll dig up a manual) You should be able to type in your browser 192.168.1.1 and it should bring up the interface to change settings in your router or modem. (if it asks for a username and password... most likely it will be "admin" and "admin" or "1234" and "1234"There you can see if there are other computers connecting... and deny them and or just set up your wireless router with WEP2 security! it's one step in the right direction.
oh yeah its a verizon modem model # GT704WG I was at the interfac but i didnt know where too look to see if anyone tagged on. And whats WEP2? anyway thanx for the info and....... yeah about that manual .
1. Access the web interface of the router by typing http://192.168.0.1, into the address bar of Internet Explorer.
2. Click on Setup/Configuration on the Main page.
3. On the left hand panel click Advanced Setup. Then Begin Advanced Setup.
4. On the left hand panel click Wireless Settings.
5. In the Wireless Settings page, click the radio button next to on.
6. Click Next, then Save and Restart at the bottom of the left hand panel.
7. Then Click Save and Restart on the next page this will reboot your Gateway.
8. Once the gateway reboots, the Wireless LED should be green.
Besides the Speed of your internet connection and settings, which would cause Internet Browsers to load the web pages slowly, are there any other questions?
