Slow startup Macbook Pro

Since I have installed Snow Leopard the startup time of my Macbook Pro 15' has become very slow (2 mins).

I have tested everything suggested by various forums:

Onyx, Mackeeper, safe start, start with command+opt+ P+R, permissions repair, disk defrag, reinstallnof the operating system.....

The startup time is still about 2 mins.

Should I conclude that this is a problem that many have with the upgrade to Snow Leopard and there is no solution?

Should I give up and wait for Lion ?

Thanks for your suggestion

Well this is off no help to you,but...
A Google search using 'snow leopard slow boot' does turn up enough complaints to make it appear that Slow boot times are common in Snow Leopard.
As for myself, I must be one of the lucky few without this problem.

Well I assume you ran all the cleaning routines in Onyx? If you want a program that makes cache cleaning into simple check marks that look at Yasu. You should run all the cache cleaning routines and let the program reboot your Mac. Then once that reboot is done manually reboot again to completely rebuild your Mac's startup/shutdown system cache.

Then if you want your Mac to scream (as in speed) get an SSD. In my old Mac Book Pro I put this SSD in it and it really surprised me how fast it has become.
