Small Annoyance

In safari, when I look at pictures people post on forums, it downloads the file as "attachment.php" even though the file is a jpeg or whatever. Is there a setting I'm missing?
 
Aneasy way around this is just to drag the picture off the page and into whatever folder you want, or onto the desktop. It should work correctly this way.
 
those work fine. its the attachments that say for example "dscp444.jpg" when i click the link, safari downloads the file and renames it to attachment.php i can rename the suffix to jpg and it opens up, but that's too many steps for my lazy self.
 
I found the same thing whentoo but I also found it auto renaming after it finished, have you till it finished to see what it says?
 
it never renames the files, or maybe i'm not waiting long enought. how long does it usually take?
 
nope, it doesn't do that. internet explorer will open the file correctly, but safari does it's strange little thing.
