Smart Folder... a question...

Ok, so, say I searched for "Mo" (my name), and it shows all sorts, photos, movies, songs. I save the search, as a Smart folder. Now, does this mean, that if I add a file with "Mo" in it, it will be 'added' to the Smart folder?

Also, is there any way of removing some results, as I don't really want the movies in the Smart folder.

Thanks.

you should be able to exclude all movie-files by adding a rule to the folder, for example you could add something like exclude all files with certain endings(.mov, .mpeg, .avi etc).. or all files over that and that size(as movie-files normally are quite big..).

or..? just a guess..

I think I may have solved it. When viewing the results, click the "*** more" link (*** represents number of certain files), and it shows only the files of that type.

Also, I just realised that my first post might be a bit misleading.

"Now, does this mean, that if I add a file with "Mo" in it, it will be 'added' to the Smart folder? "

I meant, when I add a file to the system and rename it to Mo.

Smart Folders will always be up to date. That what makes them "smart". :) So yes, you can add, rename and alter files all you like, and your Smart Folders will reflect those changes.

As for the first question, I'm not aware of any good way to do this. Alexandr, how do you add an exclusion rule. I can find no "does not contain" or "is not" options, just "contains" and "is".

I think I've solved that, but if not, it doesn't really matter anyway.

That is kinda sweet, the Smart folder idea. Thanks guys!

Alright, here's my problem.

I have some photo folders for a site, that I also keep offline. I've made a smart folder of all the photos, as an unindexed archive. Now, I tested it by adding a photo to the original folders, and yet the Smart folder hasn't updated. What am I doing wrong?
