SMB Printing - Canon i900D

I'm able to connect to my Canon i900D on my HP PC over the network, now the problem is here at the Mac. I installed the drivers from Canon's site, but i900D does not show up in the model list under Canon when adding the printer. Even tried with CUPS.

Any ideas what's going on here?

The driver provided by Canon is for USB only. You must have a CUPS driver to print via network (that is, to print using the CUPS comm protocols that include Windows printing, IP printing, etc). Apple tried to get around this issue by including the Gimp-Print drivers (which are CUPS drivers), but no Canon model from the last 6 years is in that set. The only CUPS driver I know of for your printer is from www.printfab.net.

There are other advanced methods of printing through Windows if you don't want to buy the printfab driver.
