SMB share nightmare!

Hi Guys,

I'm new to the forum, but not the wonderful world of mac.
Got a very strange problem with one of our Mac's.
It seems that when a certain folder is shared via SMB, only a few files can be seen, but there are numerous files in the directory.
EG. On our Vista laptop and a MacBook, connected via smb, can only see 1 out of the 20 or so files in the folder. However, when i connect via AFP or FTP, the files show up fine.

This is a majour headache and we need to get this sorted.

Please please plase help!!!

How are you connecting to the SMB share? What script are you using to connect to this share? How did you set up sharing in the Vista box?

Use the 'connect to server script:
Code:
smb://servername:139

Well, the share is on the iMac, /usr/public/OfficeShare.
I turned on sharing in the preferences, connected it to the same workgroup, and setup permissions so everyone can access the files.
When i browse to this machine on the vista box, it shows less than half the files which are in the directory. It cant be permissions or i'd be able to see the files but not access them.
The MacBook can connect perfectly and see all the files through AFP, but as soon as i connact via SMB (smb://server/share) it displays exactly the same files which the Vista box shows.

Very, very strange!
