I think i heard before that with 1 keyboard button u can take a snap shot of your desktop just dont rember how or what button. I know grab does it but i wanna use the 1 button better. Anyone rember or care to tell me what software does it.

i'm sure you could use QuicKeys to do it -- also, Ambrosia's Snapz Pro does similar things that Grab does.

The keyboard shortcut to take a picture of your desktop is as follows:

Command-Shift-3 to take a picture of the WHOLE desktop
Command-Option-Shift-3 to copy a picture of the desktop to the clipboard
Command-Shift-4 to take a "selective" picture of your desktop (you define the area with the mouse)
Command-Option-Shift-4 to copy a "selective" picture of your desktop to the clipboard (you define the area with the mouse)

I don't recall ever hearing about a one-button command to do this.

pressing Command-Caps Lock-4 will let you capture only the window whose title bar you click. give it a try! it makes an image right on the desktop. and with tinker tool, you can select the format (the defualt OS format is tiff, but you can mek it jpg, or others, i belive.)

This doesn't work for me, either. I think this was an OS 9 feature, though.

By the way, ElDiablo: the key commands for copying screenshots to the clipboard is with the CONTROL key, not the option key.

So you would press Command-Control-Shift-3 to copy a screenshot to the clipboard, and Command-Control-Shift-4 to copy a "selective" screenshot to the clipboard
