This will be the simplest question ever, I'm sure -- but I've just spent too much time trying to remember and google: How in the heck you get the dock to not always be in the front?!?! As in my browser window right now, is behind the dock, so if I wanted to resize it -- the dock is in the way, and wants to launch an app instead of letting me grab the browser dock... grrr! The simplest things always escape me! I'm running on os 10.4.3 on an ibook G4 1.42. Thanks in advance!

lol, yea that is annoying when that happens. especially when you accidentially click an app that takes a long time to load.

What you need to do is right-click (or Control-click) on the part of the dock with the small divider line between the Trash and the other icons (see attached image). From the pop-up menu, choose Dock Preferences... and then check the Automatically hide and show the Dock checkbox in the Dock Preferences window.

Alternatively, you can go to System Preferences, and then click on Dock and the same Preferences window will appear.

Thanks... I do know how to do that, and actually don't do well with it... I like my dock around -- I just wish it was behind the current windows/apps etc. Maybe I'm loosing my mind; but I swear I remember being able to choose that somewhere!
