so where's the os x cd player?

I was looking around in my apps, and I noticed one thing, what the heck happened to the MAC OS X cd player???

iTunes plays CDs as far as I know

Yes iTunes serves as the cd player in X. You can also get a dockling from www.on-core.com that works quite well.
