Anyone know IF there is a way to do Raid5 in software on MacOSX / Darwin / BSD? and IF I can put HFS+ on top of a Raid set? I have these 3 matched 30G drives with all sorts of stuff that I don't want to lose, and backing up to CD just isn't realistic.
Anyone who has had a drive go bad knows that it happens in a rapid, and catastrophic manner. I just want my data to be safe. I've done this on linux, but it was really cryptic to get it to go.
Can I do this already? Will Apple make this happen? Will a third party allow this to happen?
