software project mgmt for mac

i've just appointed to be a pm in my small group .. we;re going to develop a software .. small only :) using Java (netbeans)

now i;m thinking of what is the good software to handle the project mgmt run in Mac .. i looked at ms project but it;s for windows... is there any other soft? if possible free :p for Mac .. but works as powerful as ms project

If you also want to manage other assets like random notes, feature requests, bugs, etc. there are many web based solutions that invovle PHP/MySQL. I've setup various webapps using apache/php/mysql and it's a dream to do in OSX, it's just easier.

That's a web based bug tracking system called "mantis". If you do a Google search for "php project management" you'll find other webapps that serve this role.
