Software Update.

I work in a school and we are having problems with the update software on all of our macs. since the 10.5.6 update the application "quits unexpectedly" after it gets about a quater of the way through.

The only way that we have found to fix it is to bring them down to our private internet connection and update them there, Once this has finished, they work and update fine on the school network again.

We have tryed flushing the cache and changing the network settings on them but without any success.

Any help would be much appreciated.

There seems to be a problem with downloading this last update--a quick search in this sections will show a lot of threads on it. A Guru may be able to explain what is going on with the failing connection, but the easiest solution is to download the ComboUpdate directly from Apple. You can do that on your private network. You can then transfer that to each Mac if you burn the update on a disk.

I would recommend this since there seems to be some issues with simple Software Update of this latest update for some users.

After downloading the combo update as suggested by Doctor X if its still not working. Apply the update n safe mode.
