Software updates

HI,

Currently I am unable to connect my mac to the internet so i cant update my software by clicking on software update.. My windows pc however is connected and i was wondering if i could download the update(s) and then transfer them onto the mac to update..
I might sound like a dummie, but I am new to mac and have never done a software update. I am currently using MacOSX 10.3 (on the internet, it looks like people call 10.3 panther and 10.4 tiger, is that so?)
Anyway, please help

Shouldn't be a problem, just don't try opening the downloads on the PC.
