Solution needed for networking iMac

I have a G4 800 iMac, without an aiport card. The airport cards are now $140 from the apple store because of limited production

I also tried the USB wireless thing from DLink and I'm less than impressed.

I currently have Comcast Cable internet with a wireless cable modem upstairs that the family uses and I also have a 'hot' cable port downstairs next to my imac. Can I run two cable modems at once in the same house or is my provider going to block it? I can find a Newer Motorola on ebay for $15-$30 and would be happy with just plugging in.

I would move the wireless downstairs but then th signal becomes really weak and the rest of the house can't use their laptops.

Thanks

Justin

Adding another Cable modem: Its worth asking if you can just put another computer on without incurring any extra costs, because if your ISP allows this, it would be an easy way to do it.

Running an ethernet cable: this is the most reliable option and is not as hard as it sounds. You can get a *good* electrician to put in the cable and wall points for about the same as it costs for that Airport card. You can do it yourself if you're confident (depending on local law).

Airport Card: Well, its a bit pricey, since the original Airport cards are becoming quite hard to get now, but it is a pretty convenient option and will work a lot better than the D-Link adapter since the antenna will be several times larger.
