I have an external Western Digital 250 GB HD in a Firewire 400/USB 2.0 IOGear firewire device.
When I copy large files to it, it just hangs. It doesn't matter if I do this via command line (cp) or the Finder. I look at the DiskIO section of Activity Monitor, and it shows no bandwidth being written to disk. At this time, anything that tries to access the disk hangs, and the only way to proceed is to unplug the Drive (which I get bitched at for, of course). I usually have to power cycle the device to get it to be recognized.
This didn't happen before Tiger...
One more thing, the drive likes to click a lot, but it's always done that...
