Well....has anyone got any concrete ideas on this smtp connection issue....I'm just setting up my new imac running on OS 10.5.5, and it won't connect to send outgoing mail...it works on my laptop running 10.4.11...all is well, I can send and receive....same server....computers are in the same room.....but....no go for this imac.....it just doesn't appear to like that port 25, and even when I customize it to go on port 587.....it just finds it's way back to port 25....and says smtp.talktalk.net (offline)....which really doesn't help......
Any ideas?? Anybody?..:)

Well.....I've just gone and figured it out......the trick is to put NONE for authentification....and suddenly....'green lights'...Halelujah:)
