Sony IP55E handycam to iMovie

I have PowerBook Titanium and Sony Handycam MicroMV IP55E.
I have a problem : iMovie cannot detect my camcorder via FireWire...I thinks iMovie need new driver which support Sony New Handycam.
Who can solve this problem?

Did you ever sort this out giza? I want to get an IP7 SONY but don't know if its compatoble with imovie
