Sound Balance Problem

Ever since upgrading to Jaguar every time I log in the sound balance is not centered. It used to be, but now I find 75% of the sound in the left speaker and 25% in the right or 30% in the right and 70% in the left; it's just random and it is so annoying that I have to open System Preferences every time I log in and move the balance to the center again. What is doing this?!!?!?

This might be caused by a faulty connector. Sometimes oxidization does crazy things to cables. You might want to check the connectors. I had a problem with this before. And it was gone after I unplugged the plug and wiped it clean.
