Sound Balance

I find that my Mac randomly decides to change the balance in the sound output...

Is there some sort of key combination that I could be pressing accidentally that adjusts this?

There was another thread about this recently, but since the search function here is currently disabled, I can't find it.

From what I remember, the working theory is that it's a bug caused by DVD Player. Does this jibe with your experience?

The best suggestion I have is to either use VLC to play DVDs instead of DVD Player, or just make a point to check the Sound preference pane after playing DVDs.
