Sound card plist error

Hi,

I've been trying to install a Hoontech DSP 2000 C-Port soundcard into a G4 running 10.2.8.

I've tried the latest Mac OS X driver from the parent company site (www.st-audio.de) and an older driver (the card is 4 years old).

The opened DSP24 Settings icon in Applications simply says "Hoontech hardware not found", even though I've quadruple checked the connections.

The Console says this:

CFPropertyListCreateFromXMLData(): plist parse failed; the data is not proper UTF-8.
The file name for this data could be:
Contents/Info.plist -- file://localhost/Applications/DSP24%20Settings.app/

After a bit of googling I stumbled upon somebody (from this site) recommending to a Photoshop user, who was getting the same message, to trash the plist and try to run the app again. So I tracked down the relevant plist and trashed it. Tried to run the DSP icon again, and still no success.

Could somebody PLEASE help me with this problem. I'm going insane.

Cheers,

Si the Pi.

You may want to post this in a more appropriate forum here - you probably won't get much of a response in the server forum. Sorry! :)

I would have suggested trashing all of the preference files, re-installing and trying again.

Thanks Michael,

I just saw the hardware/software issues in the description and went for it!

I'll try deleting the plist files.....and posting this elsewhere!

Many thanks for your time,

Simon.
