Hi guys,

I have just bought myself a 1Ghz 15" G4 Powerbook and I am looking for some nifty speakers to go with it.
I'm a student who is pretty much skint after purchasing my Powerbook and a 20GB iPod, so I am looking at speakers under/around £50 ($80).

Any advice would be fantastic,
Thanks in advance :)

I'd just go for connecting it to a hifi, if you really need portable speakers, have a look at that thread but as Arden was saying, you either get portability or quality.

I am not specifically looking for portable speakers. I only mentioned that I had a PowerBook for requirements sake.
The Apple speakers look great but apparently they don't work with PowerBooks, is that right?
I just want something like a 2.1 system, as I say under £50 ($80).

My girlfriend has Harman Kardon SoundSticks + subwoofer for her PowerBook, great sound. $99 on Apple Store.

I have a pair of Event 20/20 Biamplified Studio Monitors , $450 a piece, even better sounding than the Sound Sticks :)

c'mon...you mean the powerbook speakers arent' good enought for you? some sarcasm to brighten up your day.

peace.

i would suggest pluging your powerbook into a stereo unless the room where you will be doing most of your work doesnt have a place to plug in, my PB is always plugged into the stereo and it is great for games and music, there are harmon kardon sound sticks and woofer on the family computer and they are quite nice also, check ebay or something if they are a bit pricey
