I have these entry-level speakers sitting around and I thought it would be a good addition for my iMac. They worked with my 12" PowerBook G4's audio output but it doesn't seem to work with my iMac.
I've seen these optical audio outputs before. Sorry if it's such an audiophile noob question but does this mean that I have to get new speakers? Shouldn't optical audio have downward compatibility with my speakers? (It has a 1/8" mini input).
I just find it peculiar because I took my Sony headphone's input with the speaker's and they seem identical to me.
Here is a the kind of speakers that I have: A Creative SBS 260.
Update: Just needed to turn up the volume. Heh, now I feel like a complete noob.
